Blair Witch Project Review

In my opinion I think that this movie was a very unique and scary experience at the time of its release and deserves recognition for that but by today's standards not so much. At the time of this movie's release many people were fooled into thinking it was real this is because of the rawness that the footage had this gave the movie an almost realistic feel as this was how most people would have recorded video at the time as most of the movie was shot handheld by the actors. I would like to add that the heavy camera shake in the chase scenes greatly added to the realness and made for some very disorientating scenes for the viewers making it really seem like they are terrified and running for their lives.

Would this be worth watching in 2020 though? I do think that this movie is worth a watch even today although many of the original techniques used in this movie such as the the handheld camera horror has now become a cliché however many of the newer movies that tried to expand upon the ideas that this movie introduced could not give the same feeling you get when you watch this movie. When you watch this movie in the modern day it also like looking into a time capsule the old cameras used to record give this an old feeling you will not get with a big budget modern horror movie.

In conclusion I give this movie 4 Stars.
